The terrible weather conditions played havoc with this class as well.  Not to
many of the 29 racers could land on the index.  Well qualifying was done, Ron
Rippel and Phil Stoll both ran 9.523 but Rippel got the top spot by 5 mph over
Stoll.

Going into the semi final round the biggest names in the class going to throw
down for the crown.  Maurie Misner and James Hendricks would be first.
Hendricks, pushing for the killer bulb went deep handing the round to Misner.
Larry Sargis and Dennis Bailey were next.   Bailey cut a sweet .035 to Sargis;s
game .074.  However, on the big end the trusty old school GS ran the game on
Bailey and parked he and his Busa. Sargis ran a 9.59 to Bailey's 9.67.
SUPER STOCK SEMI FINALS
BAILEY (L) vs SARGIS (R)
MISNER (L) vs HENDRICKS (R)
Word must finally be getting around that Misner can cut lights.  As was the
case all day long, everyone of Misner's opponents went deep trying to get a
jump on the tree master.  Sargis would be the final victim to also push the
beams too far and trip the old red eye of shame.  This one had to be one of
the easiest days Misner has faced in years.  Taking nothing from any of the
competitors, his light cutting reputation finally paid off in spades.
