Nearly 40 riders thumbed their noses at the weather man and maid the trip to Byron
Dragway for a chance at the money and bragging rights for the weekend.  Incredibly hot
and humid conditions made consistency a real challenge.  When it was all said and
done, two perennial power houses made their way to the final round.
We'll pick up the race in round four when the semi finals in No Box between Scott Parker
and Tom Bixler would pair up.  Parker would take an .04 holeshot lead chasing Bixler off
the line by only .02 difference in dial ins.  Parker would hold the slightest of leads over
Bixler all the way down track for the win.
NO BOX FINAL ROUND
BIXLER (L) vs PARKER (R)
In the Streetbike portion Larry Sargis would take a bye run.  Marcus Taylor would be
chasing Matt Lahey.  Lahey had an .04 holeshot but couldn't run the number and
Taylor would advance against Sargis in the Streetbike final.  In the Box portion Tom
Klemme took his bye into the final.  Tom Ewig would have an easy run against Dan
McCarten suffered valve spring issues and lifted.

TOM KLEMME ON BYE RUN
RD 4 EWIG (L) vs McCARTEN (R)V
STREET SEMI FINALS
RD 4 LAHEY(L) vs TAYLOR (R)
The No Box class was done waiting for the other two classes to finish.  Larry Sargis and
Marcus Taylor were up first.  Sargis would give chase by only a few tenths to Taylor.  With
only .002 between their RT's it would be up to running the number now to see who would
continue.  Taylor would hold too much and breakout sending Sargis to the run off.  Tom
Klemme and Tom Ewig were both a bit conservative on the tree but also had trouble with
their dial ins.  The weather again threw a curve changing and both riders broke out by a
bunch with Klemme breaking out by .04 to Ewig's .06.
STREET FINAL ROUND
BOX FINAL ROUND
RD 5 SARGIS(L) vs TAYLOR (R)
RD 5 EWIG(L) vs KLEMME (R)
The trio of class victors Larry Sargis, Tom Klemme and Scott Parker would face the
coin toss for the bye into the big money round.  Scott Parker would get that bye and
just take the tree.  Tom Klemme and Larry Sargis would have to race for it.  Klemme
would de dialing 8.90 to Sargis' 9.50.  Klemme cut an .028 to Sargis' .040.  Klemme
would get past Sargis and win running a 8.91 on his 8.90 dial to Larry's 9.55 on a
9.50.
RUN OFF ROUND
RD 6 SARGIS(L) vs KLEMME (R)
In the final run of the day, Scott Parker would take on Tom Klemme.  Parker was
dialing 9.13 to Klemme's 8.94.  Parker left with an .063 bulb to Klemme's .028.
Klemme would not be able to run down Parker despite the holeshot.  Parker
would run on his number with a six leaving Klemme right on his hip through the
traps.
